Hi {{first_name|there}},

Claude now lives inside your Google Sheets sidebar.

It reads the file and edits it itself: formulas, pivot tables and cleanup, without you leaving the sheet.

Here’s the setup, and the prompts to paste in first.

PLAY OF THE DAY

Put Claude inside your Google Sheet

Claude opens in a sidebar next to your file, and one install covers Sheets, Docs and Slides. Here are six prompts for Sheets. Type each one into that sidebar.

Install it once. Find “Claude” in the Google Workspace Marketplace and click Install. Then open any file and go to Extensions, then Claude, then Open Claude.

Inherited a sheet you didn’t build?

“Explain every formula on this tab in plain English. Flag any number that was typed in by hand instead of calculated.”

Typed-in numbers are where spreadsheet mistakes hide.

Data in a mess? Change the column letters to match yours:

“Clean up this tab: one date format in column B, no extra spaces anywhere, and split the full names in column C into first and last name columns.”

Need a summary fast?

“On a new tab, build a pivot table of total sales by month and by product, with a chart.”

Staring at #N/A? Swap D2 for the cell showing your error:

“The lookup in D2 returns #N/A. Find out why and fix it.”

Thinking about a price change?

“On a new tab, build a table showing what happens to my profit if I raise prices by 5%, 10% and 15%.”

Meeting notes in Docs.

“Turn these meeting notes into a table of decisions, owners and dates.”

A cluttered deck in Slides.

“Split any slide with more than five bullets into two, and make all the titles match.”

Every job above is one prompt, typed into the file you already have open.

💡 Pro tip: Select the cells first, and Claude works on only those cells.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Open the spreadsheet you trust the least and install Claude from the Marketplace. Run the formula prompt on one tab and see what it flags.

Until next time,
Chris, Bizziology AI
