The $12K/month AI tool built around one recurring problem
Alchie is a French startup founded by Pierre Guilbaud. It turns rough ideas into polished LinkedIn posts.
The numbers: About $12,294 in monthly recurring revenue from 212 active subscriptions (reported revenue, not profit).
What it does
Lots of professionals know their field but get stuck trying to turn it into a post. Alchie fixes that with an interview-style process. You give it an idea, an article, a video, or a PDF. It suggests post angles and then asks follow-up questions to pull out your own perspective.
The lesson: Alchie isn't selling AI-written text. It's selling a faster way to get from "I have something to say" to "my post is ready."
How AI helped build it
Pierre doesn't code. He used Claude Code to turn an HTML prototype into a working subscription product in about two days, with sign-up, payments, and a free trial. Stripe handles billing and Supabase runs the backend.
AI didn't replace the work. It shortened the gap between an idea and a product people could pay for.
How it makes money
Free trial: Users get their first two posts free (card required).
Subscriptions: The top "Gold" plan costs €89/month.
Training upsell: A LinkedIn bootcamp, with replays included in the Gold plan.
People post on LinkedIn every week, so a monthly subscription fits how they actually use it.
How he got customers
Pierre built in public. He shared progress, features, and feedback on LinkedIn while he worked. He also promoted a waitlist to his LinkedIn followers and newsletter readers, and it grew from 200 to roughly 550 people.
At launch, he offered two free posts to anyone who commented on his announcement. That brought in about 1,000 comments, and each reply pointed people to Alchie.
The detail that matters most: he already had an audience. Distribution came first, then the product.
The takeaway
Pierre had an audience, but that's not what made Alchie work.
He picked one recurring problem, let people try the result for free, and shared his progress openly.
You can start all three today: choose a problem you understand, use AI to solve it better, and document the journey.
Your audience grows from there.
