Testing every AI tool would cost you a week. These 12 cover the daily work of email, research, analysis and presentations.
Pick the task that costs you the most time and start there.
Start here: ten-minute first tasks
Inbox piling up? Turn on Auto Reminders in Superhuman Mail for emails you send to people outside your company, and see which ones it brings back.
Slow first drafts? Dictate the email you've been putting off into Wispr Flow, then edit what it types.
Not sure a number is true? Paste it into Perplexity and ask: "Is this accurate? Give me a source for each claim."
Long report or transcript? Upload it to Gemini Notebook and ask: "List every deadline and dollar amount in these files, and where each one appears."
Inherited a spreadsheet? Open the file with Claude for Excel and ask: "Which cells feed into the total, and where could it break?"
Need a deck fast? Describe it to Gamma in a few sentences, then fix what's off.
Email and quick drafts
Superhuman Mail sits on top of Gmail or Outlook. Auto Reminders flags sent emails nobody answered.
Auto Drafts then writes the follow-up in your style, and it can draft a reply when someone asks to meet. You review it and hit send.
Auto Drafts comes with the Business and Enterprise plans, so check yours first.
Wispr Flow is dictation for any app, on your computer or phone. You talk, and it types a cleaned-up version without the "ums" and "uhs."
Use it for first drafts of scripts and emails, or rough notes, whenever you think faster than you type.
Claude Cowork carries out multi-step tasks for you. Give it access to a folder in the Claude desktop app, ask it to pull the key numbers from three reports and draft a summary, and it finishes the job without you copying anything between files.
You need a paid Claude plan.
Research you can check
Perplexity searches the web and answers with linked sources. When another AI tool hands you a number or a claim, run it through Perplexity before it ends up in something you publish.
Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) answers only from the files you upload, and each answer has a citation that jumps to the passage it came from. Good for transcripts, long reports and research documents.
Ask for specific facts and comparisons across your files. That beats asking for a broad summary.
Perplexity covers the web. Gemini Notebook covers your files.
Analysis without the grind
Claude for Excel (also called Claude in Excel) adds a sidebar that reads the workbook you have open, formulas and tabs included. Its answers link to the exact cells, so it's a good way to trace a broken calculation or learn a model someone else built.
Use it on files you trust, and review its edits before you rely on them.
Julius AI takes a spreadsheet or CSV and answers plain-English questions about it, with charts. Reach for it when you need to understand a file fast. For a precise, auditable model, build in Excel.
Tracelight is an Excel add-in for financial modeling. Its Change Review shows all the changes it made to each segment of data, so you can check its work.
If a mistake in your model would cost real money, it's worth a look.
Turn your work into something people use
Gamma turns a prompt into a full presentation you can export to PowerPoint or PDF. Treat it as a strong first draft, since some layouts need small fixes after export.
Claude Design is an Anthropic Labs product that launched in April 2026. You make designs, prototypes, slides and one-pagers by talking to Claude.
It works best as a finishing step on a deck you've already built, adding interactive pieces like toggles and clickable elements. It's still in research preview, and you need a paid Claude plan.
Lovable builds a working web app or website from a plain-language description. A comparison spreadsheet can become a site where people sort, filter and search the data themselves. Web apps only, not native mobile apps.
ElevenLabs handles AI voiceovers, sound effects and dubbing. Dubbing translates your audio into other languages and keeps the speaker's voice. A finished video can reach a new audience without anyone re-recording it.
Add a second tool once the first has earned its spot.
